Maybe I should lay off the booze

We arrived at a friend's house late Friday afternoon for our playgroup's every-second-Friday tradition of pizza and play for the kids and drinks for the moms. I am the organizer of this particular aspect of our group, earning me the moniker "cocktail captain."

Anyway, we arrived and were just walking up to the table containing a steaming bowl of spiced apple cider alongside a variety of, er, "additives" to be added to the grown-ups' cups, when my charming daughter pipes up, "Mommy? Would you like a cocktail?"

Why, yes. Yes, I would.

I assume that should you and I ever be in the same mother's group that you would second my bringing champagne?

I think the women in my current group might just frown...

You should write a book on training a child so well. I'd like mine to make that offer each evening.

Does she know how to make a G&T?

Wow- you've trained your child to bartend your playgroup? (Bowing to the master).

Ahhh - the kiddy bartenders. I just took a fifth of vodka to our friend's house in the diaper bag...I agree with Geohde- we would have a great mother's group, LOL!

I'm at a new site, by the way. You can access it from my profile. It's called What Skinny Jeans?

Thank you for your comment on my pregnancy blog. It's nice to hear some success stories. I hope I can hold out for as long as you did with no cervix.
